Explanation of Position
on the resolution on the
report of the Committee for Development Policy on its ninth session
The EU would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the input and advice contained in the report of the ninth session of the Committee for Development Policy.
More specifically, its recommendations relating to climate change, poverty eradication and LDC’s, focus on issues that the EU considers to be of utmost importance in addressing today’s development challenges.
At the same time, the EU would like to reaffirm the right of the ECOSOC to consider the recommendations of its subsidiary bodies and act on them as it deems appropriate.
